CHILDREN
Early Recognition
The initial years of human life up to puberty are defined by constant bodily growth. During this time all organs, especially the mobility organs, are constantly subjected to big changes.
You cannot just compare the body of an infant, a toddler or an adolescent to the body of an adult. Therefore the evaluation of ailments and injury during childhood is a demanding endeavour, which Dr. Christian Merettig is happy take on.
Frequently occurring growth deformations include scoliosis, a lateral contortion of the spine, as well as the Scheuermannsche-disease, which results in development of hyperkyphosis. Early detection and therapy implementation may inhibit this growth deformity. In most cases effective physical therapy and manual therapy or wearing a corset for a limited time-period, is quite sufficient. Only in isolated cases surgery is really necessary.
